Since the last update, we've been busy traveling. (Thats an understatement)
Josh was able to compete in the "Run for the Zoo" 5k, scoring a personal best time for that distance. I was sad to not be able to participate, but it was great being a spectator and cheering him on! (Good thing he wears bright orange clothing, makes it easy to spot him!)
We were able to road trip with the boys to Vegas over Memorial Day and spend some quality time with Mary and Dave, as well as have a wonderful lunch/baby shower with really dear friends. (I haven't forgotten to write out my thank-you notes, I've just been waiting to do as many as possible at once.) Everyone was really generous with their giving, but the best part was getting to spend time with everyone we don't get to see that often and celebrate our baby girl!
Larry and Karen were able to visit ABQ shortly thereafter, and it was great to spend some time with the two of them. We picked out our crib (since the one we originally wanted was no longer available) and got it set up in Remie's room once it arrived. It was pretty painless for the most part, and I'm excited for her to get to use it!
Shortly thereafter, we made the trek to Cosmopolis, WA to celebrate my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. 60 YEARS! They raised 5 kids, have 11 grandkids, and a bunch of great-grandkids with 2 more on the way. They are both amazing people and are a great model of a happy marriage.
While we were in the area, we ventured by Multnomah Falls and Vista House outside Portland, OR. Absolutely stunning landscapes. After nearly 10 years in the desert, I had forgotten that shade of green existed in nature :)
We're headed out to CA to spend sometime with my parents, and then I'm done traveling until Remie arrives. I'm large, awkward and uncomfortable, so I think some time at home is in order.
